1. Scope of this policy

This policy describes how Campsie Removals (“we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through our website (campsieremovals.com.au), our booking and quote forms, phone calls, SMS, email and in person. It is published in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide our removalist services. Typically this includes:

  • Identity & contact details — name, phone number, email address.
  • Move details — pickup and delivery addresses, move date and time, move size, floor and access notes, special instructions.
  • Payment details — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Communications — messages you send us via the website, email, SMS or phone (including call recordings where lawful and disclosed).
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, referral source. Used to keep the site secure and improve user experience.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Provide a quote and confirm your booking.
  • Coordinate your move, including dispatching the right crew and truck.
  • Issue invoices, receipts and process payments.
  • Respond to enquiries, support requests and complaints.
  • Send service messages (booking confirmations, arrival ETAs, follow-ups).
  • Improve our website, services and customer experience.
  • Meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

4. Who we share information with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who help us deliver our service or who we are required to share it with by law, including:

  • Our removalist crew (name, addresses, phone, access notes — the minimum needed to run your job).
  • Stripe — for payment processing.
  • Google (Maps, Places, reCAPTCHA, Analytics) — to power autocomplete, prevent spam and measure site usage.
  • Our email and SMS providers — to deliver booking confirmations and notifications.
  • Our accounting and insurance providers — where reasonably required.
  • Law-enforcement agencies, regulators or courts — where we are legally required to do so.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working (e.g. session storage for the multi-step booking form), to remember your preferences, and to understand how the site is used (via Google Analytics). Most browsers let you control or refuse cookies through their settings; doing so may affect functionality such as the saved-progress booking form.

6. Marketing & communications

From time to time we may contact you with relevant offers (for example, a packing-services discount near a confirmed move date). You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to any SMS, or by emailing us. Transactional messages (booking confirmations, arrival ETAs, invoices) are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while your booking is active.

7. Storage, security & retention

Personal information is stored on cloud infrastructure with reputable Australian and global providers and is protected by access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest where supported. We retain booking records for at least 7 years to meet Australian tax and business-records obligations and to support insurance claims, after which records are destroyed or de-identified.

8. Your rights & access requests

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete information that we no longer need to keep.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults arranging a move. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
